Indian markets are expected to trade in a range on Friday tracking mixed trend seen in other Asian markets.

Technically, Nifty has breached previous month's low indicating that the index is going to trade under pressure, say analysts.

"Falling market breadth and considerable fall in midcap as well as smallcap space also gives reason to be cautious," LKP Securities said in a report.

"Nifty has closed well below its strong support at of 7800 and has closed near its 100.

LtdBSE -7.38 % slipped as much as 8.6 per cent in trade on Friday, a day after the IT major reported a 6.3 per cent jump in revenue sequentially, marginally missing analysts' estimates.

TCSBSE -7.38 % reported results with revenue growth as well as bottom line missing expectations, after almost eight quarters of beating or matching consensus expectations on results front.

Market opens at record high levels

Sensex 22,339, up 2.5 per cent.
Nifty 6,695, up 3.2 per cent from the previous week.

Shares of India's biggest real estate company, DLF, plunged as much as 22.3 per cent to Rs 121.25, also its new 52-week low in early trade on Tuesday, a day after the stock market regulator Sebi barred DLF and six of its top executives including chairman K P Singh from accessing stock markets for a period of three years.

The regulatory action stems from the DLF management's failure to disclose material information to investors during the firm's equity offer in 2007 to raise Rs 9,184 crore.

At DLF was trading 18.5 per cent lower at Rs 119.50. It hit a low of Rs 111.26 and a high of Rs 131.05 in morning trade today on the Bombay Stock Exchange.

RBI Governor RaghuramRajan said a ceiling on how much government debt foreigners can buy could be removed over the next two years and added that he wants to see the rupee as a global reserve currency in a decade, Euromoney reported in its web site.

Rajan told the magazine that the country would remove foreign investment limits "once the world becomes excited in a more substantial way about the India story".
That would happen once the economy reaches its potential output over two consecutive years and foreigners move to long-end maturities, Euromoney also reported Rajan as saying.
